Mykonos

The first thing you can see when you arrive to Mykonos are several white buildings. They are the trademark of the island, which is one of the most popular Greek destinations for people all over the world.

Mykonos is located in the Cyclades on the Aegean Sea, between the islands Tinos, Syros, Naxos and Paros. You don't have to worry about accommodation, because there are plenty of nice hotels.
You will also not complain of being bored, because there are many tourist attractions as well as beautiful landscapes and places worth seeing.
The first settlers came to Mykonos about five thousand years ago.

The capital city is of the same name – Mykonos. You can see old buildings, visit museum exhibitions from the Mycenaean era and walk through the narrow, twist alleys while admiring houses decorated by flowers.
You can relax at one of the many beautiful beaches and swim in the clear water of the sea. It is an ideal place for those who enjoy water sports. Tame pelicans may come to you when you have some tasty food in your hand. The symbol of the island is the pelican Petros Mykonons.

Another important landmark is the church Paraportiani, which is said to be the most photographed  church in Greece. It is actually a combination of five churches built over many centuries.
You can also see “Little Venice” - buildings that are located directly on the water, with an amazing view of the Alefkandhra district.

The windmills dating from the sixteenth century are also very characteristic for Mykonos, as well as the lighthouse Armenistis - its height is 19 meters and it's situated in the north-west part of the island.
