The Wog Boy: Greek comedy in Australia

Today we will present you a rather classic romantic comedy.

The Wog Boy is a movie from the year 2000. Quite a long time ago, but still a lot of fun to watch. The main character is Steve, a second generation Greek Australian, who currently has no job.

He manages his life somehow with some moonlighting.
Whilst helping out a neighbour, Steve has a little car accident with the Australian Minister of Employment. This accident changed his entire life. On the one hand he is now known as Australia’s biggest dole bludger on the national TV but on the other hand, he met Celia, a pretty woman and at the same time the  The minister’s PR person.
Now Steve has to prove to Celia, to himself, and to the whole country, that there's more to him than meets the eye. With a little help from his friends, he might just do it. As long as he can keep his best friend Frank away from Annie, Celia's little sister... and protect Frank's cousin Dom, from Tony, the insane local crime lord to whom Dom owes money... and prevent Theo, and enterprising neighbour, from throwing himself in front of a car to collect insurance.

Steve manages to turn this around to his advantage, and becomes famous as The Wog Boy, spearheading a campaign to improve the employment status of the country. And in the meantime, he makes variable progress with Celia.

This is ethnic comedy at its most charming and we hope you will enjoy watching it!
