… tears would leave dark stains?

Tears are made of three layers: oil, water and mucus. How do you think your surrounding would look like if there was one more dyeing layer?
In our daily life we cry often or see other people cry for a lot of different reasons. After the fall of tears what remains are mostly red eyes, a headache, wet clothing, sometimes a mental stab in the heart but maybe also a smile on the face.

However the tears evaporate and the irritated eyes calm down after a longer time of not crying, you can not see them anymore and they might fade into obscurity. Would this also happen if tears would dye everything they touch and their color would remain forever?
The staff psychologist of Santa Monica Stephen Sideroff describes crying as a natural response to certain feelings, usually sadness or hurt. But the people also cry under other circumstances and occasions.
We cry when our eyes are irritated from something like strong wind or temperatures, smog, smoke or dust but we also cry from laughing a lot.
We cry when we are really proud of someone but also when we lose someone dear to us for a short time or forever.
We cry when something unexpected happens, might it be positive like a surprise party or negative like a scary occasion.
But mostly we cry out of pain - mental and physical. It could be a traumatic experience like an accident, seeing someone or a lot dying - even if you do not know them -, a natural or human made catastrophe to something as barbaric as war. It could be the evidence of a traumatic experience small or big, from a scar to the lost of a part or a function of the body but it could also be a pain of dysfunctions of the body, genetic or generated with the pass of time.
Crying is a way to release a buildup of energy with feelings positive or negatives.
So we can see that there are a lot of occasions, totally different, that make people lose some tears and even if one person does not get teary easily there are a lot others all around the world, of which the tears do not remain visible after a time. So what would happen if they would remain? What would be if every place a tear stroked would be marked by it? We would have a stained world, some places more or less. And if we go with the rules of coloring where layering a color makes it stronger, some places on the world would be invisible under the marks of the pain which was forced onto people at each specific place or of the pleasure.
So if something like this would be some day reality, then I hope from the depths of my heart that the stains of the tears would have different colors to separate happiness from sorrow in them. Because there will be a lot of walls stained by pain and the tears of happiness would be like beautiful flowers in a sea of darkness, a sea which is as I think unnecessary dark but which could be brightened step by step by each of us.
