... there was a second planet like the earth?

For years people have looked at the sky trying to figure out what it was.
But what if it were a planet similar to ours and it were habitable?
It seems more planets have been discovered with water but are too far away for our technologies. But if were discovered one accessible and close to our?

A planet to be habitable must contain water in liquid form, oxygen and protection from the rays of the most nearest star. To allow this must be at a certain distance from the star preventing water from evaporating or freeze.
If astronomers could find a more habitable planet, you might resolve some problems related to our planet. We may discover new resources with which to produce energy to replace our energy sources that harm the planet and threaten to destroy it.
A new planet could also open the way to learn any new forms of life and if could be possible to communicate with them.
It could be usefull to manage the problem of overpopulation of our planet by sending a part of the world population on the new planet.
If the earth catastrophe could take a key role to prevent the human race becomes extinct.
The discovery of a new Earth-like planet would lead to a quantum shift from the scientific point of view.
With today's technology it's very hard to reach another habitable planet, but in the near future it will be possible.
The question we should ask is “we will be able to don't pollute and damage the new planet as we are doing with the Earth” ?
