Amorgos is part of the Cycladic islands and it's represented by fantastic golden beaches with cristallyne water where you can diving(Mouros Beach, Kalotaritissa) impressive caves and ancient paths across rocky lands.
Moreover, this island took part in Luc Besson's movie” The Big Blue” and in Giorgos Kordelas's movie “Ariadni”.

Amorgos is also well-known for its culture and history simbolyzed by the Acropolis of Arkessini, the Dokathismata figurine and the monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa that is situated in Chora, was built to protect a religious saint from intruders 812 years ago, today is open to the public but there must be an appropriate way of dressing: the men have to wear long trousers and the women a skirt or a wrap down until the knees.
You can reach the island only by boat.
On the 21st of November the island celebrates the Presentation of the Virgin Mary with a huge feast with wine and traditionals food.
I suggest you to taste some of the local specialities: Xerotigana(fried pie with white beet and fennel), Patato(goat cooked with potatoes), Pasteli(sesame bar).
So, dear listeners, if you are thinking to a vacation this is the right place for you!
